Katani Japanese Porcelain Tea Set
A Beautiful Japanese Katani Tea Set
Unfortunately tea sets aren’t my specialty subject and my knowledge is limited,
From some research I believe this to be in the style of Katani, which apparently means ‘Nine Valleys’.
It looks to have some age, over the years a few repairs have been carried out and those too look fairly aged.
I would assume it’s porcelain, the cups are particularly light. The larger items are more substantial in weight.
I would also assume hand painted?
Decorated with cranes and flowers - the colour way is very lovely and I cannot see any other set the same as these,
There’s a stylised cloud shading over the set, looks quite dramatic on display.
The set will need a light clean before using.
The set comprises of:
1x Tea Pot - Approx 20cm tall
Decorative bamboo style handle
No chips to lid or rim
1x Large Sugar Bowl? - Approx 15cm tall
